From one existing palm tree to a lush garden in 10 days.
Vila Hortensia
The goal of the landscape design was to create a lush and dynamic, yet completely intimate green oasis in a relatively small space. With the abundance and volume of carefully selected plant species and the reduction of colours, we achieved the impression of a more spacious garden.
The backbone of the landscape design was based on terraced rectangular green areas surrounding the pool and wooden terrace, and around the existing Phoenix palm tree from the old garden of the villa. The geometric base of the garden’s hardscape is softened with lush plant beds of Phormium and Crinum, also known as flax lily and white coastal lily, opposite which rise the white fans of Strelitzia and feathery leaves of hardy Musa banana plants.
The green background of the entire garden and villa is complemented by the existing Aleppo pine forest that extends all the way to the entrance of the villa, whose view is further enriched by newly incorporated, tall eucalyptus trees.
