Dubrovački vrtovi sunca
The Sun Gardens Dubrovnik hotel complex in Orašac near Dubrovnik includes the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa residential complex and sports centre.
The complex includes 57,000 m2 of parkland, which due to its unique location and rich natural vegetation presented a serious challenge for a landscape design. During the design, we paid special attention to the preservation of existing plants, especially slender cypresses and centuries-old olive trees, and their integration into the new landscape design solution.

We have carefully designed and built the “green roofs” of the hotel, covering a total area of 5,000 m2. With a simple composition of irregular organic shapes of the green roof of the wellness centre, we tried to achieve a special visual atmosphere and recognizability of the area. The idea of a green roof originated from the vista towards the playful dance of the islands of the Dubrovnik aquatorium.
Irregular organic forms were achieved by combining flowering and aromatic plants, which spring from the sea of decorative stone like islands of plants. We transferred the idea inspired by the sea to the roof garden of the congress centre. Waves of lavender combined with waves of Dichondra lawns and decorative stone evoke the constant rippling of the sea.
